Eligibility of SIBM Hyderabad

Candidate should be a Graduate from any recognized University/ Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).

Values and objectives of SIBM Hyderabad

Inspired by the ideals of ‘Vishwa Bharati’ of Gurudev Tagore and ‘Antar Bharati’ of Sane Guruji and with a deep desire to help foreign students, an idea of ‘Symbiosis’ was conceived by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar in year 1971. The motto of Symbiosis is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. Indeed, the motto is aptly justified in Symbiosis’ functioning pattern as it proves to be a ground that nurtures and cares for all students immaterial of their backgrounds.

Value in the Name

The basic value thread at Symbiosis is that of caring and nurturing. The thread expands into a finely woven symbiotic system where thousands benefit. The name Symbiosis was coined with a special meaning – that of allowing various international cultures to culminate at a point and grow together. The idea was to promote a healthy and nurturing atmosphere for all students and the term ‘Symbiosis’ perfectly suited as it stands for co habitat of biological systems.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The World Is One Family

In ancient Hindu and Vedic philosophy, the world was construed as a huge family. The Vedic civilization did not regard the geographical boundaries as a division of the world. The thought that the entire earth is united in essence and a huge family imprinted on the Vedic lifestyle. The Sanskrit phrase, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the earth is a single family) signifies this thought. Inspired by this philosophy, Dr. Mujumdar put his first steps forward as he created a blueprint for Symbiosis in 1971. He truly believed that the various foreign students studying at his institution were all part of a huge family.

Through his experience at the Fergusson College, he pondered on the difficulties faced by foreign students. Thus in 1971 he established “Symbiosis”, which means ‘living together of two different organisms for mutual benefit’. Therefore, the main dictum at Symbiosis is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.

Facilities at SIBM Hyderabad Campus

Hyderabad, the capital city of the Indian state of Telangana was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in the year 1591 along the banks of river Musi. It also goes by its sobriquet City of Pearls. It has an estimated metropolitan population of 7.7 million, with an area of 625 sq. kms making it an A-1 status city.

Hyderabad is considered to be the financial and economic capital of the state; it is the largest contributor to the state’s GDP, Tax and Excise revenues. The service industry is the largest employer providing employment to 90% of the work force.
Symbiosis Hyderabad has a fully residential campus with state of the art facility in the academic and residential blocks. It is located at Mamidpally, Rangareddy district, Telangana near Hyderabad which is just 30 minutes away from the International airport. A candidate aspiring to join an MBA programme offered by any Institute of Symbiosis International(Deemed University) [SIU] has to take the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP)Computer Based Test (CBT).

The candidate needs to:

Register for SNAP Test,
Pay the registration fee for SNAP Test,
Register for her/his choice of programme(s) offered by any Institute of SIU,
Pay the registration fee, separately for each program.

If shortlisted for a program applied to, the candidate would then need to participate in the further admission process (GE-PIWAT) of that particular program. The registration process (including the payment of the registration fee) for SNAP and Institutes is integrated. A candidate can complete the SNAP as well as program registration (as well as pay the registration fee) on the same portal (snaptest.org)
