Chancellors Message SSBF Pune
Prof. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar is the Founder and President, Symbiosis; and Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University). A renowned academic and educationalist, he has received civilian honor many times by the Government of India. He was also awarded Punyabhushan in 2009. The complete list of accolades, far too long for these pages, includes Maharashtra Gaurav Award and the FIE Foundation Award.
He was born on 31 July 1935, in Gadhinglaj, Kolhapur district, Maharashtra. He won a master’s degree in botany with honors and a doctorate in microbiology. He was the Head of the Department of Botany at the Fergusson College in Pune for over twenty years. He has authored a number of books and research papers, all of which are regarded as landmark publications in botany and other sciences. He also served on the Executive Council Senate and the Academic Council of the University of Pune for several years.

International collaborations for SSBF Pune
The Symbiosis international university gave us an opportunity to be a part of the student exchange program. It was an interactive program for a span of 15 days wherein 14 German students along with Professor Seebens from the Nuremberg tech university visited the Symbiosis university, lavale campus from 13th Feb to 21st Feb. Being a part of such initiative inculcates a sense of cultural diversity in each one of us. Knowing students from different backgrounds, their lifestyle, traditions helped us to grow more and share a bit of our life with them. We had a 15-day scheduled program wherein everyday was dedicated to specific locations preferably the places where they could know our way of living and know what India is all about. Breaking all barriers and preconceived notions that they had in mind about India, we helped them know the country is way beyond what they think it is perceived as. The students were a mixed lot wherein everybody was studying different subjects and specializing either in engineering or business or finance.We were seven of them who were assigned a buddy to the German students. We were responsible for engaging them and making this program as interactive as possible. MBA In Finance | MBA In Banking | SSBF
The MBA (Banking and Finance) program is designed with an objective to disseminate relevant knowledge and provide skills to students such that they function effectively in the challenging environment of the Banking, Finance and Insurance (BFSI) sector. The programme develops future BFSI leaders with requisite skills through robust curriculum and collaborative initiatives to excel in the dynamic global environment.
Duration: Two years full time residential.

Eligibility Criteria for SSBF Pune Management Quota
- Graduate from any recognized University / Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).
- A candidate who has completed qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before seeking admission to any programe of SIU.
- Evaluation Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) issues equivalence certificate for foreign degrees/qualifications.
Selection Criteria for Batch 2023-25 SSBF Pune
The final selection of student for admission of the MBA (Banking and Finance) programe will be based on the following criteria:
- The final selection of candidates will be based on the cumulative marks scored on 100 marks.
- SNAP score will be scaled down to 50 marks
- The remaining 50% weightage will be assigned as follows:
- Group discussion
- Individual Interaction [including Academic Performance & Work Ex]
- Written Ability Test
SSBF Pune: Scholarships Management Quota
SSBF Pune offers merit-based scholarships, sports scholarships and industry scholarships to meritorious students.
Post Graduate Merit Scholarships
A Semester topper with minimum GPA of 7.50 is awarded this scholarship. Under this scholarship, 50% of the academic fee for the semester is waived off in which the student was declared the topper.
Scholarship by University Sports Board
The scholarship of Rs 24,000 per annum is awarded to 05 outstanding sportsmen of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University (SIU).
Industry Sponsored Scholarship at SSBF
CRIF High Mark offers a scholarship of Rs 1 lakh to SSBF students belonging to economically weaker sections based on their academic performance.
